The THERMOFIRE CBE-JU project aims to create innovative bio-based and recyclable thermoplastic composites that are both lightweight and cost-effective. By incorporating natural fiber reinforcements and bio-based, halogen-free flame retardants, the project seeks to enhance the mechanical properties and fire resistance of these materials.

MNLT’s Role in the project
MNLT is leading the exploitation effort of the novel and innovative THERMOFIRE materials, developing their pathway to the market. To support this, MNLT is also focusing on the standardization process, to demonstrate their compliance to the most stringent regulations.
