pROJECT

Project Description
The MINE4BUILD project aims to design, develop and validate an innovative building material that provides both fireproofing and blast resistance on a small scale.
The construction sector is one of the most resource-intensive industries in Europe, and over the past few decades, there has been a growing focus on reducing ecological impact while enhancing safety, particularly concerning fire and blast hazards.
MINE4BUILD seeks to address these challenges and promote sustainable development by creating a Smart Composite Geopolymeric environmental-friendly Concrete (SCGC). This material will not only offer effective fire and blast resistance but will also be cost-effective, utilizing secondary resources from the mining industry.

MNLT’s Role in the project
MNLT was responsible for the development of the fireproof and blast-resistant geopolymer formulations and their production at small scale and the environmental assessment of the novel construction materials of the project.
