Last week, we had the pleasure of co-organizing the 3rd IT4EST.i3 Replication Roadshow, this time in Athens, Greece, together with Democritus University of Thrace – (D.U.Th.) and Bonpet Systems, bringing together project partners, technology and forestry experts to synergize and gain hands-on experience.

🧭 Day 1 | Technology Presentations
The first day opened with discussions on scale-up support through i3 instruments, the IT4EST vision and the European Forest Test Bed Network, before moving into presentations from IT4EST technology providers on solutions for forest fire prevention, advanced crisis management and post-event restoration.

Our expert speaker line-up included: Dr. Kyrillos Dimanopoulos (European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA)), Prof. Michalis Chalaris (Democritus University of Thrace – (D.U.Th.)), Ms. Vasiliki Alexiou (MNLT Innovations PC), Mr. Jean Catry (Forestry France), Mr. Valentin Dinu (Ocolul Silvic Vlasia), Mr. Vasileios Gkerles (Bonpet Systems), Dr. Angelos Liapis (Konnektable Technologies Ltd.), Dr. Emmanouel Tsiros (kartECO)

🌄 Day 2 | From Discussion to Field Experience
The roadshow programme continued with field demonstrations at the Dionysos Marble quarries, where we experienced first-hand how IT4EST technologies can support wildfire prevention, crisis management and post-fire restoration in real operational settings. Demonstrated solutions included Bonpet distinguished Liquid for Forest Fires, Konnektable Technologies Ltd.’s COncORDE platform, kartECO’s Post-Event Restoration Programme and Falkor Group’s sensor technologies.
