Last week, we took part in a series of impactful activities in Oviedo, Spain, organised by DEXPLORE EU Project and WIDEX EU Project, driving knowledge exchange, innovation uptake and stronger cooperation across Europe’s critical raw materials ecosystem.

🔹DEXPLORE | Exploring Together: From Deep Exploration to Responsible Exploitation of Critical Raw Materials
The “Exploring Together” clustering event, hosted on 17 June at the Faculty of Geology, University of Oviedo, brought together projects, industry actors, public authorities and research organisations to discuss the full pathway from exploration to responsible CRM exploitation. Thank you to Minersa, TerraDat Geophysics, ICAMCyL Foundation and Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster | ISMC for creating this space for collaboration.

We also participated in DEXPLORE’s first Review Meeting on 16 June, presenting our work towards assessing the project’s environmental impact. The programme concluded with a technical visit to Minersa’s facilities, offering us first-hand insight into the practical and industrial context behind deep-land CRM exploration.

🔹WIDEX | Cross-Fertilisation Workshop: Advancing Collaboration in Critical Raw Materials and Innovation Ecosystems
On 18 June, the WIDEX cross-fertilization workshop gathered #HorizonEurope projects and innovation hubs working on sustainable raw materials, battery materials, rare earths and permanent magnets. Through two sessions focused on knowledge transfer and European hubs for raw materials, the event highlighted how collaboration across initiatives and regions can strengthen ecosystems and open new pathways for joint action.

Alongside the workshop, we were a part of WIDEX’s M24 General Assembly, where partners reviewed project progress and aligned on next steps. Thank you to ICAMCyL Foundation and Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster | ISMC for putting together a day full of insightful discussions and new ideas.
