MNLT at the THERMOFIRE Project Consortium Meeting in Serquigny!

On May 20-21, we had the pleasure of participating in the THERMOFIRE CBE-JU 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, held in 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘆, 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 and hosted by our partner Arkema. The event marked a key milestone in our mission to advance bio-based, fire-resistant composite materials toward real-world deployment.

🔍 On 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬, partners enjoyed a field visit, guided by Mr. Thibault Roumier, at La French Filature, a flax fiber manufacturer supplying sustainable materials for the automotive, sports and textile industries. This was an excellent opportunity to witness how bio-based materials are being developed and applied at scale.

👥 On 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟭, partners visited the Arkema facilities in Serquigny, with the guidance of Dr. Jean-Jacques FLAT and Dr. 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗱, gaining valuable insights into the production side of our project’s composite materials. There, all project partners were given the opportunity to align on future activities and share updates across the board.

Representing MNLT, Dr. Spyridon Gavalas attended the meeting and shared our contributions in the areas of 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, where we focus on ensuring that THERMOFIRE’s innovations are not only 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘃𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, but also meet regulatory requirements and support the EU’s broader 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 and 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀.
