ZEROSTEEL – First In-Person Meeting in Freiberg!

Great energy and strong collaboration at the 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗻-𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 of the ZEROSTEEL HORIZON2024 project, held in 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗴, 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆, from 𝟴–𝟵 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱!

🤝 Over these three days, partners came together to 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 toward greener, low-carbon steel production.

🌿 As 𝗠𝗡𝗟𝗧 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, we are proud to lead 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 at the heart of ZEROSTEEL’s mission. Our focus on 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗟𝗖𝗔), 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼-𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗧𝗘𝗔) and 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 provides the foundation for evaluating and scaling innovative solutions that support the 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆.

🏛️ Partners visited the 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺, home to one of the world’s largest mineral collections, and explored the vital role of minerals in industrial innovation and sustainability—core themes of the ZEROSTEEL project.

🔍 The meeting concluded with a visit to the INEMET (Institute of Nonferrous Metallurgy and High-Purity Materials) / IEST: Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology facilities, where partners were introduced to the research infrastructure, pilot activities and technological developments supporting ZEROSTEEL’s innovation pathway.
