The THERMOFIRE CBE-JU Project recently held its 18 Month Meeting. During the meeting, hosted by Geopannel in Logroño, Spain, we had the opportunity to share our progress and participate in the discussion on project updates with our partners. 🇪🇸
🔥THERMOFIRE is developing novel, lightweight and low-cost bio-based and recyclable thermoplastic composites, using natural fibres and bio-based flame retardants for enhanced mechanical properties and fire resistance. These composites are targeting three key applications, automotive, aerospace and textile, in alignment with EU-wide environmental and energy strategies and aims. ✈️🚗👕
🔍 MNLT, represented by VASILIKI ALEXIOU in this meeting, is leading the exploitation effort, designing tailored strategies to ensure the successful commercial exploitation of these innovative new materials. We are also tasked with the standardisation process for the thermoplastics developed, guaranteeing their compliance with the most stringent regulations, further supporting their commercialisation. 🎯
🙏 We extend our gratitude to Geopannel for hosting the meeting in their facilities and to all our partners in the THERMOFIRE Consortium for their participation and contributions.
