Greetings from Madrid, where our Horizon Europe hashtag#PERMANET project, funded by the European Commission, kicked off this week. PERMANET, led by Tecnicas Reunidas is working to secure REE supply in Europe in order to match the considerable industrial demand.

🎯The project will focus on establishing three connected Tech Hubs, each focused on a different element of the Permanent Magnet REE Supply Chain. PERMANET will introduce innovative technologies for the Sustainable Supply of REEs, ensuring their Circularity and validating the new products via the Manufacturing and User Testing Hub. Through the efforts of the project, the suite of PERMANET technologies will be scaled up, deployed across Europe and expanded, strengthening the European supply chain of these Critical Materials. 🧲

MNLT’s role in PERMANET is centred on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of the Manufacturing Hub, guiding the design process with sustainability-focused recommendations for pilot routes and operations. Additionally, we are conducting a comprehensive Life Cycle Costing Analysis (LCC) to validate the proposed economic benefits of these innovations. 🌿
