The MNLT Innovations team’s CompSafeNano secondment journey continues across Europe, with two of our colleagues exploring new research opportunities, exchanging knowledge, and returning with fresh ideas and perspectives in the field of nanomaterials, nanosafety and sustainability.

📍 Austria
Ms. Nikoleta Kontogianni, Sustainability Researcher at MNLT, continued her staff exchange journey, this time in Salzburg, where she was hosted by Universität Salzburg.
Working with the Department of Biosciences & Medical Biology, she shared our expertise on sustainability assessment and innovation business planning, while exploring Safe and Sustainable by Design approaches and the integration of toxicological data into nanomaterial life-cycle assessments.
A heartfelt thank you to Prof. Martin Himly for his supervision and to the PLUS team for the warm hospitality.

📍Sweden
Dr. Christos Galanos, Sustainability Researcher at MNLT, was hosted by Stockholm University in Stockholm, where he worked within the Department of Chemistry – Physical division. During his stay, he gained hands-on experience in computational modelling and molecular dynamics, working with tools such as Visual Molecular Dynamics (VMD), LAMMPS and GROMACS to explore molecular visualization, crystal structure and simulation workflows.
We warmly thank Prof. Alexander Lyubartsev and the entire research team for the generous welcome and insightful discussions.

At MNLT Innovations, we are proud to contribute to CompSafeNano, an EU-funded MSCA-RISE project, and to support collaboration that advances safer and more sustainable nanomaterials.
