On 26-27 November, the FOCAL Project consortium met in Darmstadt, Germany for an inspiring two-day Consortium Meeting hosted by Fraunhofer IGD (Project Coordinator). Partners reunited in person to:
• Review progress across all Work Packages
• Align next steps on the FOCAL Platform’s development
• Reinforce the project’s strong collaborative spirit
• Strengthen our shared vision for delivering actionable, user-focused climate services across Europe.

📡 A standout moment was our visit to EUMETSAT, where the FOCAL team gained first-hand insight into how satellite observations support real-time weather forecasting, long-term climate monitoring and global Earth-observation missions. EUMETSAT experts also presented their contribution to the Destination Earth (DestinE) initiative, offering valuable context for FOCAL’s workflows and opening new opportunities for synergies in climate data integration and intelligence.

💡 At MNLT Innovations, we proudly lead FOCAL’s Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication activities — ensuring that project results reach the right audiences and translate into real-world impact. During the meeting, Ms. Dimitra Papoulia, Project & Dissemination Manager at MNLT, presented our work and upcoming plans, including a series of events, webinars, and knowledge-sharing actions designed to bring FOCAL closer to users across Europe. Stay tuned!

A warm thank you to our hosts and coordinators at Fraunhofer IGD, Dr. Eva Klien and Dr. Veneta I., for the excellent organization, as well as to the dedicated EUMETSAT experts for welcoming us and sharing their impactful work.

🤝 We look forward to continuing this strong partnership and driving FOCAL toward its next milestones!
